Project description

The Intrastat Department, part of the Croatian Ministry of Finance's Customs Administration, is responsible for collecting and processing intra-EU trade data. This data is essential for national accounts, macroeconomic analysis, and providing a picture of the Croatian and EU economies. The processed data is shared with the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, other EU Member States, and Eurostat, playing a key role in informing EU policymakers.

Croatian Ministry of Finance's Customs Administration has received technical support to develop and institutionalize a data quality management methodology for the Intrastat Department, particularly through further implementation of the EBS Regulation. This initiative is aligned with Croatia’s broader efforts to strengthen its statistical system. The project enhanced Croatia's capacity to collect, process, and disseminate high-quality trade data, supporting both national and EU-level statistical needs.
