Project Description

The specific objective of the assignment was to improve the control of the Delegation of the European Commission to the Republic of Croatia over the programmes under its responsibility, by developing a Management Information System (MIS), which would enable the Delegation to:

  • Control the programme budgets;
  • Plan and monitor procurement, implementation and payments, and;
  • Report all those elements to the EC Headquarters in a given format

The Management Information System took into account the structure of the project cycle, the complex tendering procedures, rules governing payments and all management needs. In addition it had to be integrated with the existing IT systems in the Delegation.

  • Analysis and documentation of business processes in the EU Delegation
  • Design and build a Microsoft Access database
  • Integrate database with the existing databases
  • Test the integrated system
  • Training of the MIS users
  • Initial support in early phases of operation of system
  • Maintenance of the system
  • Drafted user manual for Delegation staff
  • Drafted operation manual for system administrators
